Built by Theophil Hansen on the occasion of the Vienna World's Fair, the listed Palais Hansen on Schottenring is one of the historic magnificent buildings on Vienna's famous Ringstrasse. Theophil Hansen's modern approach to a classical palace set the tone for the overall image of the city of Vienna and the creation of Vienna's Ringstrasse at the time.               Like no other, he left his mark on the architecture of the Danube metropolis. In the course of its construction (1869 to 1873), formerly conceived as an apartment building, the Palais was converted into a hotel for the 1873 World Exhibition and subsequently used as an official building of the City of Vienna and is now, in accordance with its former purpose, once again managed as a hotel.
