Development to the Universalartist

Herbert Lippert a real Universalartist

Herbert Lippert (born October 7, 1957 in Linz, Austria) is an Austrian opera singer (tenor) and well-known painter.

Kammersänger Herbert Lippert began his musical career as a child as a soloist with the Vienna Boys' Choir, completed his studies in music education at the University of Vienna and, as a member of the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera, is one of the leading lyric tenors of the present day.

He has worked with the most important conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Fabio Luisi, Franz Welser-Möst, Bernhard Haitink and Nikolaus Harnoncourt and has sung at all the world's great opera houses, including La Scala in Milan, Covent Garden London, the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Munich State Opera, the Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin, the Zurich Opera House and at the Salzburg Festival. His successes as a singer in concerts with Maurizio Pollini, Fabio Luisi and Wolfgang Sawallisch are also legendary. In the course of his career, Herbert Lippert has made more than 300 recordings of classical music with the most famous conductors and the most renowned orchestras in the world.

Herbert Lippert was particularly influenced by his years at the Vienna State Opera under the direction of Dominique Meyer, where he sang the great tenor roles, such as Lohengrin (Lohengrin), Erik (Fliegender Holländer), Loge (Rheingold), Bacchus (Ariadne auf Naxos), Paul (Totenstadt) and Peter Grimes (Peter Grimes).

Herbert Lippert is also a gifted painter who presented his works to the public in 2017 in the first vernissage on the premises of the Vienna State Opera. With 160,000 visitors, his exhibition "Die Winterreise," based on the song cycle of the same name by Franz Schubert, was an overwhelming success. Like hardly any other artist, Herbert Lippert today combines singing and painting in a unique, universal symbiosis.

Herbert Lippert's unmistakable, post-impressionist style of oil painting is characterized by passionate strokes and an emotional play of color, light and shadow that captivates. The intense textures of his paintings bring to life the basic musical motifs of all his paintings, which thus become an impressive symphony of image and music, song and painting.
