As a tenor, the Grammy Award winner delights his audiences and conjures up images in the minds of his listeners with his voice. In his oil paintings, one can feel the artist's extraordinary talent and his deep connection to music in every brushstroke. Herbert Lippert is a Universalartist, who virtuously spans the arc between music and painting, unique and enriching. THE TENOR More than 300 recordings of classical music - with the most famous conductors and the most renowned orchestras of the world - I could record so far. As a long-time ensemble member of the Vienna State Opera, the great tenor roles of Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss have been the focus of my singing. However, I have always been particularly enthusiastic about the contemporary composers of the 20th century, such as Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Paul Hindemith or Benjamin Britten, whose music stirs and moves me. A musical challenge that I have always taken up with enthusiasm! THE PAINTER To create an oil painting or watercolor, to create an entire cycle of paintings, to sense motifs and colors from music and compose them on canvas into impressionistic works of art, excites me just as much as singing a famous opera aria on stage. It is a unique artistic experience to create paintings from the musical works of great composers, to put colors on the canvas and to transmit the sensations as a universal artist, tenor and painter, to the audience with every brush stroke. As the first painter in the 150-year history of the Vienna State Opera, I was thus also able to present the oil paintings of my cycle of paintings "Herbert Lippert - Die Winterreise" to the public and share them with an incredible 160,000 visitors to my exhibition.
